The Metaverse is a hot topic in the media and is both euphorically celebrated and dismissed as mere hype. In this XRB Meetup we want to give an understandable introduction to the Metaverse.

Prof. Dr. Philipp Rauschnabel
Prof. Dr. Philipp A. Rauschnabel ist Professor für Digitales Marketing und Medieninnovation an der Universität der Bundeswehr München, assoziierter Forscher an der Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg und XR-Dozent an Institutionen im In- und Ausland. Seit 2014 erforscht er, wie XR auf Menschen wirkt und welche Potenziale und Risiken damit verbunden sind. Inzwischen gehört er, gemessen an den Zitationen, zu den einflussreichsten Wissenschaftlern auf diesem Gebiet. Als Referent und wissenschaftlicher Beirat bei XR Bayern e.V. liegt es ihm am Herzen, komplexe empirische Forschung in die Praxis zu übertragen und Fakten mit vorherrschenden Meinungen zu kontrastieren – beispielsweise in Bezug auf das Metaverse.
