On Monday, July 27, 2026, 16:00–18:00 CET, I will be teaching the Montagsseminar of MFG Filmförderung Baden-Württemberg and Film Commission Region Stuttgart on 3D audio film music and sound design – immersive storytelling for film and media.
The Montagsseminare are a monthly online workshop series for film professionals. They cover creative, organizational and technical topics from real production practice, taught by people who work in the field every day. This edition focuses on spatial sound as a narrative tool.
The seminar is aimed at sound designers, composers, directors, editors and anyone who wants to use sound as more than background – as a way of building worlds the audience steps into.
Note for participants: Zoom allows playback of demo material via wired headphones, which we will use during the seminar. A pair of decent wired headphones will give you the most out of the listening examples.
Martin Rieger is a 3D-audio expert and film composer based in Munich. As VRTonung he produces 3D audio film music and immersive sound for film, VR, exhibitions, broadcast and live events, with credits ranging from Dolby Atmos music productions to head-tracked binaural installations and 360° film soundtracks. He teaches and lectures internationally on spatial audio production and storytelling.
Reserve your seat and join the seminar on July 27.
